Marquis Drive have been together for 20+yrs having started life as a band called “ Toxic Jade” in 1991. After winning a local radio stations Battle of the Bands and recording at BBC’s Pebble Mill Studios the band enjoyed a roller coaster ride supporting and sharing the same stage as many of the big 90’s bands such as, Dodgy, Ocean Colour Scene, Embrace, Blutones, Cornershop, Shed 7, Supergrass, Wonderstuff, Miles & Erica, Chris Helme (Seahorses & The Yards), John Power (The La’s & Cast), Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) Jimbob (Carter USM).

It made sense, with this level of experience behind them, to set up Marquis Drive and to recreate the authentic sound of the 90's.
The band come complete with state of the art equipment and lighting, not something you could always expect from the original bands!
As well as anthems from the 90′s Britpop and Madchester scene the band goes back to the their roots in British Mod, SKA & the Northern Soul scene, with songs going back to the 60′s - really something for almost everyone.
The band are experienced pros. Volume will be at your discretion and again, unlike many of the original acts, you'll find them punctual and easy to work with.
The lads are normally dressed in the style of the era - but they do scrub up well, particularly for weddings and corporate events.

Marquis Drive are a not just ‘another’ covers band. Owning and running our music bar we see countless band performing and Marquis Drive were our band of choice for our wedding as they are the best and most professional. Covering all Brit Pop with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Oasis, The Verve to name but a few, this band know exactly how to please a crowd. Not only are the songs great, but the personality of the band really gets the crowd wanting more and more. We have seen them on countless occasions and the crowd always beg for an encore which can be anything up to another hour! It makes a refreshing change from your normal run of the mill covers and we recommend them to anyone wanting a band with just that little bit more. Contact details are below if you require further information. Best regards, Andy and Tracie Wood
Marquis Drive helped us launch our new brand and publication ‘iLove Manchester’ in November. The launch was held at The Place Apartment Hotel in Piccadilly in the restaurant. The band were extremely professional and worked well with the hotel staff and iLove Manchester Team to get set-up and sound checked ready for the guests arrival. Our joint hosts on the evening were Smooth Radio, with their team comparing the event. Thanks to Marquis Drive, we managed to surprise the Smooth Team and guests of the launch as our compare sang a number with the band after just one five minute rehearsal beforehand! Marquis Drive created a fantastic atmosphere that was warm, welcoming and fun. The set list was faultless and contained the best Manchester band covers, which really got our guests in a lively mood! We had lots of good feedback from our guests, Smooth Radio and our exhibitors. Such a talented, professional and approachable bunch! Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would recommend Marquis Drive to anyone whether private party or business function. Best regards, Sarah Mitchell Creative Director iLove Media Collective
