Dougie Jackson

Dougie Jackson joined Radio Clyde at the age 21 as a production assistant and spent the next five years working his way round "the business" stopping off first in commercial production and later music production where he engineered sessions for Scottish bands such as Del Amitri, Wet Wet Wet and Fairground Attraction.

At Clyde 1 FM, Dougie presented the morning show and - with this - came the chance to fly around the world interviewing the rich and famous.  Whilst on his travels, he managed to pick up a Silver Sony Award for "The Pretenders Story", a Pemois Ondas World First for "Eurochart Paris" and a New York Radio Award for "Dougie in Disney".

From Clyde 1, Dougie moved on from Scot FM in Edinburgh, first doing a two year stint on mid mornings then a few months on breakfast before moving back to Glasgow to co-host breakfast for QFM and run the station as well.  He spent 18 months there before taking up his current position at Real Radio in 2002 as morning presenter.

In between radio shows Dougie has worked on television projects such as "Passport Quiz", "Party Animals" and ""Red Amber Green" doing everything from audience warm-up to voiceovers and production.  He's also penned pop columns for the Sunday Mail and Glasgow Evening Times.

Finally, Dougie's undertaken corporate and promotional work for Guiness, Disney, Hilton and News International (to name but a few!) and has gigged at more pubs, clubs, shopping malls, christmas light switch ons, community fairs and fetes, gala days, firework displays and Hogmanay street parties than he can remember.
