Although young, Catriona is a highly experienced professional musician. She was brought up just outside Inverness, in a family of Pipers, influencing her to start playing the chanter at the tender age of six.
She has competed across the nation in piping championships and competitions and has played the bagpipes all over the world! She has also appeared as a valuable member in various pipe bands and was once also Pipe Major Catriona MacAffer for the Juvenile Inverness Pipe band on several occasions.
Catriona has also been extremely successful in the solo piping scene, having won awards at prestigious competitions such as the Mod and the Cowal Games.
Currently still competing in the senior level of championships, Catriona is still winning awards and prizes.
Catriona has graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with an honours degree, and has since gone on to complete a Post Graduate in Primary Teaching. She is currently working as a supply primary teacher for Glasgow City Council.
She has many years experience, having performed at weddings and corporate events. Catriona can play a vast range of tunes and is happy to play suitable requests.
