Noteworthy

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, the Noteworthy Trio offers a wide range of beautiful classical music from two flutes and piano performed to the highest standards. All members have a music college education and a background in high profile performance.

Their repertoire is drawn from arrangements of popular classics by composers such as JS Bach, Mozart and many others, as well as repertoire originally conceived for these instruments. They also arrange light music, such as familiar tunes by Bernstein or Gershwin, and will consider arranging any requests.

The pianist, Gilmour Macleod studied at Trinity College of Music in London.  He has won numerous awards including first prize in both the Beethoven competition and the Chamber Music competition.  In recent years as a concert soloist he has performed widely in many venues throughout the UK.  He is also very much in demand with his extensive knowledge of the repertoire of other instruments and voices.

Sharon Dowsett studied music at Kings College London. She completed an academic degree and advanced performance course while receiving flute tuition at the Royal Academy of Music.  After graduating with a first class Honours degree, she went on to train in flute performance.

Rosalia has combined a distinguished academic career alongside her flute performance.  She graduated from Vigo university, Spain, with a first class honours degree,  while also gaining a degree in flute performance from the Vigo music academy and she is currently studying for her PhD in phonology and music on a scholarship at Edinburgh University.  Rosalia is able to draw upon a wide range of musical influences, including a deep love for her native Spanish music, and also plays folk and baroque flutes, and Spanish folk harp.

As you have probably already gathered, Noteworthy are three well experienced, superb musicians with the standard line up of piano and two flutes, however, for something that little bit different, Rosalia may play the harp to create a different sound.

For the smaller venue, Noteworthy can also become a duo, just with piano and flute.
