The Essential Wedding Saxophonist has been performing professionally since he was 15 years old and went on to complete a first class degree in music after leaving school. He now plays in successful wedding band Liberty Park as well as teaching both individual and group saxophone lessons to students of all ages and abilities. Forming an instant rapport with people of all walks of life has therefore become second nature, and hundreds (possibly thousands!?) of professional performances have provided The Essential Wedding Saxophonist with the experience needed to cope with anything that comes his way!
The Essential Wedding Saxophonist's repertoire spans over 80 years and includes sax classics such as Careless Whisper and Baker Street alongside swing and jazz standards, well known pop songs, beautiful ballads, up beat rock 'n' roll and many other styles. He can even mix in a range of jazzy Christmas songs for festive parties and winter weddings, or produce a cool 'cafe del mar' chill out set for afternoons in the sun. In the weeks leading up to an event, The Essential Wedding Saxophonist always asks his clients to highlight certain songs or styles from his repertoire that they would particularly like him to include or avoid.
A solo saxophone performance is ideal for wedding ceremonies or as light entertainment and background music for champagne receptions or dining. The Essential Wedding Saxophonist's more upbeat repertoire will get his audiences taping their feet and he has been known to fill a dance floor or two!
The Essential Wedding Saxophonist is fully insured, provides all his own equipment (with up-to-date electrical test certificates) and performs with professionally recorded backing tracks to ensure a high quality, hassle free experience for his client and venue alike. He also has a battery powered system for events in remote locations where mains electricity isn't available.
The Essential Wedding Saxophonist plays entirely from memory and 'by ear', uses a clip-on wireless microphone (where necessary) and starts and stops his backing tracks remotely from a tablet on a portable stand, allowing him to move around the venue freely and mingle with his audience. He has fun interacting with the guests, serenading tables, posing for photos and generally trying to ensure that both he and his audience have a great time!
