Dark Horse is a Scottish Wedding and function band based in the Highlands of Scotland. Our mission is to bring a fresh, exciting, current sound to weddings and events in the Highlands but with a respect for the classics and of course the traditional music of our homeland.
We've all been involved in major Scottish bands in the past but have come together to bring the sound we've developed in those bands to the Highlands and Aberdeenshire.
We play soul, funk, pop and rock songs with energy and passion and although we're not a ceilidh band we're not daft enough to ignore the traditional music of Scotland so we'll play a storming ceilidh set of up to 30 minutes on request (we bring in another musician for this which is why we need to know in advance - it also means a slight increase in fee).
We offer male and female vocals, so there's no song we can't cover. Obviously we'll learn your first dance, even if it's not one we already do, just give us 12 weeks notice and you can pick whatever first dance you like.
We have all our own equipment which is brand new and meticulously maintained. We live in the area and know the most popular venues inside out (and some of the more obscure ones too) and most of all, we love to see a busy dance floor. We think we're nice people and easy to get on with; we'll be as flexible as possible with your requirements and we'll even learn your first dance if it's not one we do already.

I was very impressed by both the high level of musicianship and the excellent way the band went about its business at our party at the weekend. Everyone seemed to enjoy them immensely. I was surprised to find a band as good as this at such short notice.
